Caroline Royster, a vice president of R.M. Woodworth & Associates based in Charleston, South Carolina, is a 15-year lodging industry veteran with a wide range of consulting and acquisitions/development experience. She was most recently the head of business development for Legacy Ventures, an Atlanta-based developer, owner, and operator. There, she was responsible for identifying, underwriting, and analyzing acquisition, ground-up development, and third-party management opportunities. She also was heavily involved in project management of hotel development, asset management of the company’s owned portfolio, and disposition activities.
Prior to Legacy, Caroline held positions with PKF Consulting USA/CBRE Hotels; TPG Hotels & Resorts; and Goldman, Sachs & Co.
Ms. Royster began her consulting career with PKF Consulting USA in 2010, where she conducted market and financial feasibility studies, portfolio valuations, appraisals and business valuations, strategic research assignments, and repositioning and operational analyses for various clients in the hospitality and lodging industry. PKF Consulting was acquired by CBRE in July 2014.
Ms. Royster joined the principal side of the business in 2016 with TPG Hotels & Resorts, where she was responsible for overseeing the hotel acquisition process, including deal identification, due diligence, underwriting, acquisition, and transition to the operations team.
After six years of experience on the principal side with TPG and Legacy Ventures, Ms. Royster has returned to the advisory world.
Caroline holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Bucknell University and a Master of Science in Hospitality Management from Florida International University.
